Delivery methods
Ornamental garlic is planted either in autumn (mid-September to late October) or, especially dwarf garlic, in April. Garlic is hardy. It strengthens over the summer and can overwinter in the ground. Planting in full sun, partial shade and water-permeable soil is advisable. If you want ornamental garlic to multiply, cut back the developing inflorescences and do not pick the leaves until they have wilted. They look best when planted in groups of at least 5-7 plants.
All garlic plants are not sticky. Most of them can withstand arid growing conditions or severe frosts. This is why they are so successfully cultivated around the world. Ornamental garlic does not need to be replanted every year, but bulbs that are left undistributed for long periods of time will become denser, affecting the ornamental qualities of the plant, causing the foliage and inflorescences to shrivel.
Overwinters well in soil. They are very hardy plants. However, when preparing garlic for the winter period, the soil needs to be mulched.
