Sculptural spheres in shades of violet and blue

For a garden display with real presence, this striking Allium pairing combines the architectural form of Allium Globemaster with the delicate blue spheres of Allium Caeruleum.

Globemaster produces impressively large, rounded flower heads in rich violet-purple, held high on sturdy stems. In contrast, Caeruleum creates smaller, airy spheres in a clear sky-blue shade. Together, the two forms create a wonderful sense of scale and movement.

They look particularly beautiful planted among grasses and perennials, where the tall flower stems rise above softer foliage. They are equally impressive in modern borders, cottage-style gardens, and containers.

Planting and care

Plant in autumn in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Plant bulbs with the pointed end upwards at a depth of approximately two to three times the bulb's height.

Water after planting and during prolonged dry periods while the plants are actively growing. Avoid permanently wet soil. After flowering, allow the foliage to die back naturally. The dried flower heads can be left standing for winter interest or removed when desired.
