Planting and care

Plant the bulbs in autumn, before the ground freezes, in full sun or partial shade and preferably in a sheltered position with well-draining soil. Plant each bulb with the pointed end facing upwards, about 10-15 cm apart. Water thoroughly after planting and during prolonged dry periods in spring. When grown in containers, ensure good drainage and do not allow the soil to dry out completely. Remove faded flowers after blooming, but leave the foliage in place until it has naturally yellowed and died back.
