ALPINE STRAWBERRY ALEXANDRIA 4m SEED TAPE
Strawberry leaves and berries have long been known to cure a variety of diseases. In folk medicine, strawberries were one of the first medicinal plants. Strawberries are among the tastiest and most fragrant berries and are a very healthy food for young and old alike. Berries and strawberry leaves and flowers can be used in autumn and winter to strengthen the body, treat colds, diarrhoea, rheumatism, anaemia, weight loss, bleeding disorders, diabetes, etc.
Strawberry seedbeds are prepared 1-2 months before planting. It is not advisable to fertilise with fresh manure before planting. If the soil is moist, plant in high beds. In sandy soils the berries will remain small due to lack of moisture. Strawberries should be grown on a lighter, slightly acidic clay or sandy soil with as much humus as possible. Although strawberries like moisture, they do not like excessive moisture. Strawberries should be grown in a sheltered area, otherwise fungal diseases may occur.
