Radish

Radishes are one of the most popular and early spring vegetables. They are popular all over the world and come in many varieties, differing in appearance, taste and shape. Radishes are grown for their vitamin- and nutrient-rich roots, but the young leaves are also used as an addition to salads. As radishes are very fast-growing and high-yielding vegetables, they can produce several crops a year. Radishes are low maintenance and can be grown both outdoors and in greenhouses. Radish seeds are not sensitive to cooler weather and can be sown in the first months of spring. Radishes are more productive when grown in sunny, moist soil.

Radishes are a valuable early vegetable, used in salads and as a spice. Radishes are only eaten raw and are most valuable whole. Radishes are eaten whole. In early spring, the young leaves of some radish varieties can be used to make salads. Almost all radish leaves can be boiled and simmered like cabbage. The leaves of this plant are often thrown away unnecessarily, as they are very rich in nutrients. Radishes are recommended for athletes and diabetics. Those with pancreas, liver, gall bladder or kidney problems should eat it in moderation.
