The cardoon 'Aftershock' (Gladiolus) is particularly eye-catching with its wrinkled, rich, red flowers. Each flower grows between erect, narrow, dark green sword-shaped leaves. Spectacular on its own, in a summer garden or in a vase. Because the flowers open from the bottom of the flower petal upwards, cardoons have a long flowering period, with each flower petal lasting up to two weeks.
