These hardy daffodils are distinguished by their large calyxes, which come in trumpet, bowl or flat shape. The calyxes are longer than a third but shorter than the petals. Some have wavy, wrinkled, chequered or smooth edges of the calyx, with edges of contrasting colours. The shape and size of the petals determine the overall shape of each blossom: some are star-shaped, others are rounded or resemble double triangles. They have a huge variety of colours and promise repeated years of vigorous flowering. The large, bushy daffodils produce one flower per stem.

Like all daffodils, they like a wide range of sunlight, from full heat to partial shade. Daffodils like well-drained soil.
