Fragrant marjoram

An annual, 25-30 cm tall, herbaceous and medicinal plant. It is consumed fresh, dried and with leaves, which have a specific pungent flavour. Marjoram is particularly suitable for flavouring dumplings and lamb. Marjoram is used to treat gastritis and headaches.

Marjoram regrows and produces a second herb when cut. They are best cut before or just after flowering. They can be grown in a bed, in a pot, in a flower bed, or at home on a windowsill in winter.
