Botanical Tulip Persian Pearl
These tulips flower from late April to mid-May. Plant the tulips from mid-September to early October, depending on autumn weather conditions. The ideal soil temperature is 7–10 °C, and the soil should be sufficiently moist.
Planting depth and spacing depend on the size of the bulb. As a general rule, plant tulips at a depth equal to three times the bulb’s height—slightly shallower in heavy soil and deeper in light soil.
Dig up the tulip bulbs annually. Small bulbs may be left in the ground and lifted every two years, provided they are healthy. The best time to lift tulips is when the lowest leaf has not yet completely dried. The exact time varies between varieties.
These tulips grow up to 15 cm tall and should be planted 15 cm deep. Plant the tulip bulbs 10 cm apart.
Planting position: Spring- and summer-flowering plants grow best in a sunny position.
Soil type: Any well-drained soil is suitable. Humus may be added if necessary.
Care: Water immediately after planting and keep the soil moderately moist during growth. Protect spring-flowering bulbs from severe frost with a layer of peat. Store summer-flowering bulbs at a temperature above 0 °C.
Support: Support tall-growing bulbous plants during growth.
