Blue ornamental garlic Allium caeruleum (syn. azureum) is a particularly charming bulbous garden plant, one of the most spectacular garlics. A beautiful and distinctive ornamental garlic with an easily recognisable sky-blue colour, it is easy to naturalise in a sunny position in the garden. The flowers of Allium azureum are like the gardeners' holy grail, and this Siberian native provides them in abundance. It is easy to grow and decorates the garden with a profusion of small, round, linen-blue flowers. A very expressive, showy-looking garden flower. It is also an excellent cut flower that lasts a long time in a vase. It is ideal for drying and for use in dry bouquets. Garlic onion needs to be planted at a depth of three onions, like most bulbs. Plant between September and December (IX to XII).
