Hybrid tea rose ‘Dame de Coeur’ description

A classic large-flowered hybrid tea rose that has been popular throughout Europe for more than half a century.

The flowers are large, fully double (about 60 petals), with a light fragrance. Their color ranges from pale raspberry to cherry red. The blooms hold their color well and do not fade easily.

Flowers appear singly or in clusters of up to 4 on long, strong stems, making them suitable for cutting. The foliage is simple, slightly glossy, firm, and disease resistant. It blooms abundantly and repeatedly.

The shrub is thorny, vigorous, very dense, and upright. It is a good garden variety and combines well with other roses or perennial flowers. It is resistant to frost and diseases and is also suitable for cutting.

It grows well in both sandy and loamy soil and prefers moderately moist conditions.
Optimal soil pH: 6–6.5

Care instructions

Remove all faded flowers and flower clusters. Water regularly during summer—preferably in the morning or evening. Avoid wetting the leaves and flowers.

Prune in early spring or late autumn, leaving shoots at about 15 cm. Cover remaining shoots with soil, peat, or sawdust to protect the plant from frost.
