Hybrid tea rose ‘Virgo’ description
‘Virgo’ is a large-flowered white rose with cup-shaped blooms measuring 10–15 cm in diameter and a pleasant fragrance.
The plant forms strong, compact shrubs reaching 60–80 cm in height. It is suitable for cutting and for planting among other garden flowers.
‘Virgo’ blooms early and is relatively resistant to adverse weather conditions, although in rainy years it may require protection against powdery mildew. It blooms continuously with short breaks until frost.
It grows well in both sandy and loamy soil and prefers moderately moist conditions.
Optimal soil pH: 6–6.5
Care instructions
Remove all faded flowers and flower clusters. Water regularly during summer—preferably in the morning or evening. Avoid wetting the leaves and flowers.
Prune in early spring or late autumn, leaving shoots at about 15 cm. Cover remaining shoots with soil, peat, or sawdust to protect the plant from frost.
